Charlie Summers calls out Cynthia Dill

Today Charlie Summers called on Cynthia Dill (D- Cape Elizabeth) to denounce comments that were made earlier this week by Rep. Paul Gilbert (D- Jay). The comments by Rep. Paul Gilbert were made during a confirmation hearing for the nomination of Christopher Pierce to the Finance  Authority of Maine. Rep. Paul Gilbert repeatedly played down the service that Christopher Pierce gave to this country. Rep. Paul Gilbert feels that Christopher Pierce  and his service with the National Guard “was not considered qualification for veteran's status”. You see Charlie Summers is a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan and knows what our men and women at arms have to go through both on and off the battle field. The comments made by Rep. Gilbert were not only disrespectful towards those who put their lives on the line for this country. His comments also show the lack of awareness of those who serve our country.
